About Chitkara University Patiala

Chitkara University has started engineering admissions for the academic year 2024. JEE Main 2024 results Session 1 have been officially announced online by tNTA. The registration process for JEE Main Session 2 is open until March 2, 2024.

On the Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway, 30 kilometres from Chandigarh, the Chitkara Educational Trust opened its Punjab campus in the year 2002. The Chitkara University Act was passed by the Punjab State Legislature and Chitkara University was established in 2010. It is also accredited by the government and has the authority to award degrees under Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956.

Currently, Chitkara University has 12 educational institutions in the following disciplines: engineering, management, architecture, nursing, healthcare, pharmacy, media, arts and design, education, hospitality, and applied sciences. One of the top institutions in North India, Chitkara University has more than 13,000 students and 900 staff members.

The Chitkara University courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. With several specialisations offered under each of these courses, the university has a student-centric approach. The curriculum is frequently updated to meet industry standards. The Chitkara University fees range from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh approximately. This will vary based on the degree level and duration of the course.

Dear Aishwarya, Yes, Chitkara University offers applied art specialisation in the course curriculum of the BFA programme. The Bachelor of Fine Arts course at Chikara University is a four-year course namely BFA in Applied Art with a specialisation in New Media Design. The Law Department at LPU is one of the first departments that came up when LPU was taking its shape. According to the NIRF ranking, the Law School is ranked 24th. The vision of the school is studying by books is not a rule of Law. The course aims at preparing the students with an interest to pursue legal education with social sciences to benefit society. Creation of well-trained and dedicated professionals in the legal framework. It also aims at nurturing a graduate with in-depth knowledge of different aspects of laws comprising civil, criminal, taxation, and international laws and ensuring conceptual clarity for judicial services aspirants. Law students are prepared to spot legal issues from a set of hypothetical facts and brainstorm various legal consequences, to be perfect legal professionals. The courses are approved by the Bar Council of India. The Career guidance magazine Higher Education Review has recognized Law School at Lovely Professional University among the top-ten most promising institutions of India for its capability of producing next-gen legal professionals. The eligibility criteria for the course is 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. For SC ST applicants there is 5 percent relaxation while there is 3 percent relaxation for the OBC candidates.
